Tracy Smith, customer relations manager at Romford Care Home, said: "Our annual charity car wash has become one of the highlights of our calendar. It's an event that truly brings everyone together – residents, families, colleagues, volunteers, and the wider community – all for a cause that means so much to us.
"Every year the support grows, and to raise a record £500 while washing 60 cars is an incredible achievement. We are so grateful to everyone who came along, donated, and helped make the day such a success."
Lesley Davey and Karen from Havering Dementia Action Alliance attended the event, alongside the Mayor of Havering, Councillor Maggie Themistocli.
The money raised will support the Alliance’s ongoing work with people living with dementia, and their families and carers across the local community.
Ms Davey said: "Karen and myself cannot thank you and your staff and volunteers/residents enough for supporting HDAA. You are our champions."
Madalina Ilie, general manager at Romford Care Home, said: "Supporting our local community is at the heart of everything we do, and the Havering Dementia Action Alliance provides invaluable support to people living with dementia and their loved ones."
