Three men in have been sentenced for possessing a dog shot dead by police after it dragged a minicab driver down the road by his leg.
Jason James, 23, William Birmingham, 22, and Audrius Kesylis, 22, were banned from owning dogs for five years on June 12 at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court after they pleaded guilty to possessing the dangerous dog.
The 41-year-old driver was attacked in April in Chelmsford Avenue, Collier Row.
James and Birmingham, who live in the road where the attack took place, were both ordered to pay £1,000 compensation, £80 costs and a £60 victim surcharge. Kesylis, of Woodman Path, Ilford, was ordered to pay £750 compensation.
All three must do 180 hours of unpaid work each.
