A family fun day has raised more than £1,000 for the mayor of Havering’s charity appeal.
The event was held at Lodge Farm Park on September 20 and organised by the Havering Miniature Railway Club.
It raised £1,050 through ticket sales and trader donations for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), the charity chosen this year by the mayor of Havering, cllr Maggie Themistocli.

Cllr Themistocli, who attended the event, said: "This was a fantastic community effort, and I cannot thank everyone enough. Paul Middleton and the Havering Miniature Railway Club put an enormous amount of work into making this event happen year after year, supported by a wonderful team of volunteers.
"I was also incredibly touched by the generosity of the traders who came along to support the day. Sean and Jackie from SW’s Wild Honey in Harold Hill even donated 10 per cent of their profits from the day to CRY. Gestures like that show the real community spirit we have here in Havering."
The charity day is an annual tradition, with the volunteer-run Havering Miniature Railway Club supporting the serving mayor’s chosen charities each year.
Cllr Themistocli said: "Paul’s commitment, leadership and enthusiasm are exceptional. This isn’t a one-off event – it is part of a long-standing tradition of supporting Havering’s mayors and their chosen charities.
"That continued success is a credit to Paul and the wonderful team of volunteers around him. They give their time freely to bring people together, support good causes and create something genuinely special for our borough. I am enormously grateful to them."
She said: "Raising £1,050 is a brilliant achievement, but this day was about more than a fundraising total. It was local people, volunteers and businesses coming together for a cause that could ultimately help save young lives."
