Havering Council has listed roads that are to be shut this month to carry out traffic and gas mains replacement works.

A new cycle way is being installed, along with a zebra crossing and traffic island, in Havana Close, Romford, which will be closed at its junction with South Street.

The closure will be in place between 8am and 5pm from January 4 to January 19 daily or upon completion of the works. A diversion route will be available for motorists via Exchange Street, Waterloo Road and Thurloe Gardens.

Similarly, Chandlers Way in Romford will be closed at its junction with Eastern Road to install traffic calming measures between 10pm and 5am from January 4 to January 26 nightly.

Gas main replacement works will take place in Parsonage Road, Rainham, from 7am to 7pm between January 4 and January 19. The road will not be accessible at its junction with Upminster Road North.

London Road in Romford will be impacted by gas main replacement works from 8am to 5pm between January 4 and January 21 when it will close, with no diversions available.

Restrictions are also proposed in Fen Lane, Upminster, at its junction with B186 to Ladyville Lodge to carry out maintenance of underground network cables between 9.30am and 3.30pm on January 9 and 10.

Installation of drainage pipes could lead to further closures on Angel Way in Romford from number 23 to 35, between 8am and 6pm from January 8 to January 20.

The council has put forward plans to remove concrete blocks and bollards in two phases that could close Faircross Avenue in Collier Row at its junction with The Drive between 8am to 12pm on January 12.

In the second phase, Lawns Way in Collier Row could be shut at its junction with The Drive between 12 pm to 4pm on the same day.

Gas main replacement works are also set to take place in Briscoe Road at its junction with Upminster Road between 7am and 7pm from January 11 to 26, and Southern Way at its junction with London Road in Romford between 8am and 5pm from January 8 to February 28.
