A major shopping centre has announced that its car park is going cashless.

The Brewery shopping centre in Romford announced today that its car park will move to a cashless system from tomorrow (October 5).

Motorists can make payments by card or digitally via an express checkout option, using QR codes found on The Brewery's website.

Parking management company Orbility has partenered with The Brewery in this move.

After the change, motorists will be able to drive in and park without stopping, since entry and exit will be controlled by automatic number plate recognition.

Motorists can pay at a machine once they are ready to leave, or via contactless at an exit, The Brewery said.

The shopping centre's parking offers with Sainsbury's, Nuffield Health and Vue cinemas will continue, but validation methods will change.

To claim two hours' complimentary Sainsbury’s parking, customers will need to keep and scan their Sainsbury’s receipt at The Brewery’s car park pay station, where a £10 minimum spend applies.

Vue Cinema offers complimentary parking for customers in the multi-storey car park, but only between 6am and 6pm after buying two full-price tickets.

Customers' registration numbers must be entered on a validation tablet in Vue Cinema at the time of buying, before going to the pay station.

Nuffield Health members must enter their car registration on a validation tablet to claim two hours' complimentary parking after each gym session before going to the pay station.

The Brewery offers bays for motorcycles on levels one and two of the multi-storey car park where normal tariff charges apply.

The car park is open 24 hours and offers free Sunday parking.

The Brewery offers round the clock customer service support, and you can find ways to get in touch through The Brewery’s car park pay stations, or via email at info@thebreweryromford.co.uk.
