The summer holidays are now upon us, so we have rounded up some water parks to visit within an hour's drive of Romford.

From Aqua Action in Ilford, just a short 18-minute drive away according to Google Maps, to Festival Wakeboard and Aqua Park in Basildon slightly further afield - here are four places to visit.

Aqua Action

Aqua Action is in Fairlop Waters Country Park and includes an inflatable obstacle course including climbable surfaces, floating walkways and slides.

It has received a positive rating on Google Reviews, with one commenter saying it was a great experience for children and adults.

The Ilford water park is just 18 minutes away by car from Romford, according to Google Maps.

Splash Park Barking

Splash Park includes flat, padded ground with various fountains for children to enjoy.

One reviewer said it was great family fun and had wonderful, friendly staff.

It takes 22 minutes to drive to Splash Park from Romford, according to Google Maps.

Festival Wakeboard & Aqua Park

This water park and sports facility in Basildon, Essex provides a mix of activities, from wakeboarding to water park obstacle courses for beginners.

It offers the opportunity to book in a group and caters for adults, as well as families.

If you are driving from Romford, Google Maps estimates it will take 32 minutes.

Aqua Park Lakeside

Next to the Intu Lakeside shopping centre, the park includes more than 30 water obstacles including monkey bars, blast bags and balance beams.

It has been described as the ultimate day out for families on TripAdvisor.

By car from Romford, it takes around 28 minutes to get there according to Google Maps.
