A couple in Harold Hill revealed their joy at meeting a deer on their daily walk.

The deer were spotted this afternoon by a resident (June 7).

She said she loves living in the area and being able to see the deer.

"I feel the deer bring the people of Harold Hill together as a community."

"So many of us care for them and love seeing them walking the streets and in our gardens," she said.

Other commenters on a Facebook post said she was lucky to have seen the animals so close to home.

"They are beautiful creatures," said Susan Ann Beesley.

"You're privileged," she added. "I remember as a child going to Bedford Park hoping to see the deer behind a fence, but to see them looking so chilled and happy, outside my daughter's front garden, is even better."

"They are so majestic," added Elaine McGoldrick.

The deer have been welcomed as a morale booster for the neighbourhood.

Deer have been spotted in Harold Hill frequently over the years, attracting interest from locals and those further afield.
