A 79-year-old man has been charged with murdering his wife in Elm Park.
Tarsame Singh, of Cowdray Way, Elm Park will appear in custody at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court today (May 4) charged with the murder of 77-year-old Maya Devi.
Maya was pronounced dead at an address in Cowdray Way, on the evening of Tuesday, May 2 after being found injured by emergency services.
Her next of kin are aware and continue to be supported by specially trained officers, the Met Police said.
Elm Park councillors told the Recorder yesterday how they were saddened about the death.
Cllr Barry Mugglestone, who is also cabinet member for environment on Havering Council, said the woman's death was “very upsetting”.
