Thousands of music lovers will soon be dancing the weekend away as the popular We Are FSTVL makes a comeback.

Now in its sixth year, this year’s multi-award winning festival will once again be at the Damyns Hall Aerodrome, Aveley Road, Upminster, from today, Friday, May 25, with campers allowed on-site until 2pm on Monday, May 28.

More than 300 acts will be performing over the weekend, including Jax Jones, Gorgon City, Sigma, Simon Dunmore, Fuse ODG, Mike Skinner, as well as Lethal Bizzle and Man’s Not Hot rapper and comedian Big Shaq.

This year, as the festival will once again be set at the former First World War airfield, the organisers have focused on an airport theme.

From the 450ft long Terminal 1 arena and the LED walls of The Aerodrome, to festival tickets being printed like boarding passes and maps to look like passports, those behind the event have gone all out this year to give ravers the best experience.

Legendary drum ‘n’ bass artist Andy C, who grew up in Hornchurch, will be taking to the stage on Saturday as the headline act and says he is very excited to perform in the borough.

He said: “We Are FSTVL 2018 will be like a homecoming for me.

“It’s the area where I grew up went to school, and still live today.

“My first ever rave experience was when I was 13, and it was held in a derelict barn about half a mile from the festival site!

“This is where it all started for me and I can’t wait to perform on a show of this magnitude on my own doorstep.”

Those behind the festival are also proud to announce the event will be having 35 different options for hungry ravers with its new We Are Food Village and will be marking a real emphasis on vegan and vegetarian offerings as well as an eco-friendly ethos.
