Two Havering school girls helped England under-15 girls enjoy success last week in Brussels.

Coopers Coborn student Ruby Mace and Frances Bardsley pupil Maddie Biggs were called-up for two games against Belgium and the Young Lions squad stayed together from Saturday May 5 until Wednesday May 9.

England lost the first game in 28 degrees heat on Monday May 7 with Mace and Biggs both involved.

After suffering a defeat in the first encounter, the local girls were able to celebrate a win on Wednesday May 9 as the Young Lions secured a fully deserved 1-0 victory.

Mace and Biggs got to wear the new England kit and both impressed and will aim to build on this outing when the 2018/19 season starts up.

Biggs has produced a fine campaign for Essex while Mace has shown her quality at Arsenal and the duo will be eager to represent their country again, although next time it will be for England’s under-16s.
