Youngster enjoyed fine time in Switzerland with national youth team
Coopers Coborn student Ruby Mace enjoyed a successful time with the England girls’ under-15 football team.
Mace was part of the squad which took on Switzerland under-16s in Zurich earlier this month.
The Coopers pupil was one of 30 talented youngsters selected by the Football Association to make the trip.
The youngsters were playing two games against their Swiss rivals, with Mace completing the full 90 minutes of the second match, one of only two players in the squad to do so.
Towards the end of the first half, the Coopers student, who plays as a centre back, went up for a corner which she eventually turned home to score.
It contributed to a fine success for the England team as the recorded a 3-1 win in their match in Zurich.
After the match, there was also a penalty shootout for training purposes, which did not affect the final result.
It was the latest bit of international success for Mace, who captained the team on her last call up back in November.
The teenager will hope to continue impressing over the coming weeks and months to ensure more call ups to England national youth teams in the future.
