Upminster enjoyed their best weekend of the Essex League season with their top four teams all claiming wins.

The firsts made it three in a row in Division One with their 51-run success over Hainault & Clayhall, while the seconds maintained their Premier Division title hopes with success against Ilford.

Nathan Woods (46) and Jordan Tigg (40) made a good start, before a cluster of wickets fell to put the hosts on the back foot.

Ollie Heazle (35) and Terry Wyatt (42) rebuilt the innings, with captain Billy Wright (21 not out) hitting 15 off the last over to lift the total to 234-7.

Ilford made a fast start in reply, but Wright got rid of the dangerous Pronob Roy and Maz Malik, with a stunning caught and bowled on his way to a 3-29 haul.

And Mark Schofield (3-26) ran through the lower order to seal a 34-run victory.

The thirds returned to winning ways against derby rivals Harold Wood, who closed on 189-9 as Rob White nabbed 2-16.

Josh Lamont’s side slipped to 40-4 in reply, before Dan Tyler (59 not out) and White (35) got them back on track and Ant Limn (49 not out) helped seal a five-wicket win.

The fourths kept their survival hopes alive with a fine win over Wickford thirds as Stew Hammond (40) and Ian Munn (46) shared a notable second-wicket stand.

Rob Mack (45) and Ellis Pickering (23 not out) lifted the total to 200-7, with the latter removing openers Joe Taylor and Naeem Aslam in reply.

Young Pickering finished with 3-34, as Roham Mahor (2-36) and Max Gordon (2-40) nabbed braces to seal an 11-run victory.

The fifths came up short against West Essex thirds, who made 260-5 after a brace from Callum Berry (2-45).

Jamie Squance (50) got the Upminster chase off to a good start, but wickets fell at regular intervals as Jake Eade and captain Karim Govani both sored 27 and Alex Bottoms was left unbeaten on 38 as they closed on 216-8.

Captain Ray Calder scored an unbeaten 79 for the sixth team, as Keith Pedrick (41) gave support in a total of 174-5 against Wanstead, who eased to an eight-wicket win after Michael Jones (2-19) had reduced them to 12-2.
