Thunder silence Raiders

National League: MK Thunder 6 London Raiders 2
London Raiders were left empty handed after conceding three late goals against the Thunder at the weekend.
Having seen their home match against Chelmsford in the cup postponed due to a lack of officials, Raiders took to the ice without suspended captain Tom Davis, import forward Michal Oravec and young defenceman Stevie Dunnage.
And they fell behind with barely three minutes on the clock as Simon Howard struck for the hosts.
Raiders levelled with a Marek Nahlik powerplay goal at 15:05 but their joy was shortlived as Thomas Castle restored Thunder’s lead just 18 seconds later.
The scoreline remained unchanged until late in the second period, when Castle notched his second goal of the night to put the home side 3-1 up.
But stand-in skipper Frankie Harvey hit back with a powerplay goal early in the final session, assisted by Nahlik and Mason Webster.
Thunder restored their two-goal cushion through Ross Bowers, with less than nine minutes to play and late efforts from Harrison Goode and Jamie Line gave the final scoreline a more flattering look.
Raiders are set to return to Lee Valley on Saturday (5.30pm) to welcome Solent, before visiting Chelmsford the following evening.
