Upminster’s George Plaster has taken a step up as he chases his dream of becoming a professional motor-racing driver.

Hall Mead pupil Plaster, 11, has joined the Bayford team to race Subaru-powered karts next season, having just missed out on the title in this year’s championship series.

Dad Charlie said: “This is a big leap in his karting career, from the days when he was a six-year-old racing around in the bambino karts at Buckmore Park.

“He has won races at various tracks including Rye House, Bayford Meadows, Brentwood and Brands Hatch and if anyone is interested in being a sponsor please give us a call.”

Charlie Plaster can be contacted on 07875 538666.
