Teams win borough double

Redden Court pupils were celebrating a borough double after winning the Havering Volleyball Championships before the half-term break.

The year 10 boys’ B team of Joel Cornell, Charlie Roberts, Dan Ogoro and Chester Diwell came out on top against the A team of Charlie Haddon, Connor Hartwell, Stephen Banham-Scott and Jed Roofe to earn the right to represent havering at the London Youth Games finals at UEL SportsDock on March 12.

And they will be joined by the girls squad of Lucy Eost, Scarlett Jacks, Emily Roofe, Amy Pinkney, Josie East and Louise Banham-Scott, who won the borough title by default as no other schoels entered teams.

The Redden Court girls played friendlies against the boys teams, though, and only lost by a few points to their male counterparts in the A and B teams.

They were edged out by two points by Marshalls Park A, but beat Marshalls Park’s B team.
