Havering’s first-ever Sixth Form Badminton Championships were hailed a success by organisers.

Coopers Coborn came out on top in the girls competition, beating Havering Sixth Form 4-1.

But Havering Sixth Form won the boys’ event after defeating Campion (4-1) and Coopers (3-2).

Coopers beat Campion (5-0) in the other match in the round-robin and community coach Amanda Austin said: “The tournament went really well.

“There was some very competitive badminton played and we are hoping after this success that the competition can be run next year with more teams.”
