Basketball squad impress in National Cup

Redden Court’s year 10 basketball boys had more to celebrate as they beat St Martin’s in the Dynamik National Cup.

The Harold Wood pupils produced an excellent team performance, with everyone on the scoresheet, on their way to a 67-44 win.

Redden Court applied pressure from the tip-off, forcing Saints into bad shots and turnovers.

And patient play and good teamwork ensured Redden Court capitalised at the offensive end of the court.

A spokesman said: “Redden Court were truly fantastic and are really beginning to click as a team.”

The year seven squad came up short in the final of the Havering Cup against St Edwards.

Both teams made a cautious start as they tried to figure the other out, but Saints soon used their height with two six-foot tall players proving too strong for Redden Court.

A spokesman said: “The year seven boys have had a fantastic season of basketball and should be extremely proud of their efforts thus far.

“They are very committed and that commitment will be rewarded with many victories in years to come.”
