Redden Court celebrate their netball success

Netball squad crowned Havering champions

Redden Court’s netball squad were crowned champions of Havering after a superb display this week.

They remained unbeaten throughout the tournament – a total of eight matches – to come out on top against their borough rivals to the delight of teacher Valerie Hollingsworth.

“Our shooting, feeding into the circle and defending throughout the team was the best I have seen from the girls,” she said.

“We had an injury in defence to Tayler Martin and had to shuffle the team, but the girls responded well and carried on their winning ways.”

Redden Court began their campaign with an 11-1 win over Frances Bardsley, then defeated Coopers Coborn (6-4), Emerson Park (16-0), Chafford (14-0), Bower Park (14-0) and Marshalls Park (14-0) to reach the semi-finals.

And after easing past Sacred Heart (14-2) they beat Coopers for a second time in the final, running out 8-4 winners to clinch the trophy.

Squad: Scarlett Jacks (captain) Emily Roofe (vice-captain), Emily Diwell, Amy Pinkney, Holly Nash, Lucy Eost, Bethany Johnson, Tayler Martin, Katrina Brown.
