Netball squad keen to get back to action in 2015

Redden Court’s year seven netball squads were back on court after the Christmas holidays to take on their Emerson Park rivals.

The fixture had been arranged before the festive break and the Redden Court teams gave a good account of themselves in the friendly encounter.

Teacher Jenny Canty said: “The year seven students were keen to get back playing netball and it was impressive that the students remembered they were playing on their first day back to school.

“The students played some friendly matches against Emerson Park and all girls who have been attending netball club on a regular basis were able to play in this fixture.

“For some students it was the first time they had represented Redden Court. Without exception, the girls tried hard and gave a good account of themselves, representing the school in an excellent manner.”

Redden Court A: Abby Vile (Capt), Katie Adams, Sarah Henderson, Jamie Hartwell, Elise Bonning, Zanab Soyage, Cerys Heard.

Redden Court B/C: Emily Piercy (Capt), Tabitha Seymour, Eunice Cando, Claire Brown, Sophie Hornsby, Eloise Lucas.

*Redden Court’s year eight pupil Freya Duffy has been successful in her trials for Hornchurch Athletics Club and will now compete for them in her favoured middle distance events and other track and field events.
