Mixed fortunes for netball squads

Redden Court’s year eight netball squad experienced mixed fortunes against their Sacred Heart rivals.

Edged out by just two goals against their A team rivals, losing 5-3 despite a very good performance, they bounced back to beat Sacred Heart B by an 6-2 margin.

Grace Roberts impressed at wing attack, while Alice Dickson shone at centre in the first match.

Excellent movement from Victoria Long and good passing by Amy Nash were the highlights for Redden Court in their second outing.

Squad: Grace Roberts (captain), Nicole Payne, Alice Dickson, Amy Nash, Angel Norris, Victoria Long, Freya Duffy, Ellie Luxton, Katie Hawkes.

Redden Court’s year seven C team took on a year eight team from Sacred Heart in a friendly.

Reanna-Rae Wealand made some excellent interceptions while playing as a goalkeeper, while Emily Quantock impressed at goal defence in the second half.

Teacher Jenny Canty said: “The girls gave a very good account of themselves and competed well against the older age group.”

Squad: Amelia Martin, Sophie Hornsby, Amy Norton, Emily Quantock, Claire Brown, Reanna-Rae Wealand.
