Netball squad too strong for rivals

Marshalls Park’s A team proved too strong for netball rivals Abbs Cross, running out 14-1 winners.

The Romford pupils started the way they meant to go on, with strong passing and great footwork.

Therer was great link-up play between LeBeau, who produced some great interceptions and showed excellent use of space, and Cunningham, who fed plenty of balls into player of the match Yasmin Parkes in the shooting circle.

Parkes showed outstanding shooting to convert six chances in the first half, while Hadrava and Ellis worked hard in the Marshalls defence, turning over the ball and throwing some powerful passes to beat the Abbs defence.

Smith showed much better positional play at goalkeeper and kept the Abbs Cross goalshooter out of the game, restricting her to just one goal.

Coach Miss Whitley said: “I was extremely pleased with how the team played, they are working hard in training and the results are showing on the court.”

And Le Beau had particular praise for captain Megan Searle, saying: “She showed great fitness levels, excellent attacking play and good communication with the team.”
