Marshalls Park celebrate their win over Bower Park

Netball squad beat borough rivals

Marshalls Park’s netball squad played their first fixture of the season against Bower Park – and celebrated a slender win.

After a strong attacking half from Marshalls, Jessie Ellis (GD) and Katie Smith (WD) produced some excellent interceptions and passing skills, always finding the space in an outstanding partnership.

Lilly Hadrava (GS) had a goal ruled out due to footwork, but Millie Smith (GK) worked very hard and put lots of pressure on her Bower rivals.

Amber Le-Beau (WA) showed great use of space and footwork to set up the decisive goal for player of the match Ellie Cunningham (GA).

A spokesperson said: “Overall it was a great job from the whole team and an excellent effort. We can’t wait for our next match together.

“Our captain was strong and Bower Park Academy were tough opposition, who played well.”
