Marshalls Park’s year seven boys’ basketball squad played extremely well in their first Havering League game of the season this week.

Park dominated play from the start but although they had a lot of pressure in the first quarter, they were only 2-0 up at the end of the session.

The Romford pupils managed to sort their positioning out after the restart and, once the players thought about possession and took their time on the ball, they dominated play.

Great point guard play from both MVP Freddie Potts and Rome Boyce helped set up attack after attack as Park pulled clear of their rivals for an emphatic win.

Assistant head of PE Paul Aylett said: “The lads played really well and started to understand the positions that they were in from the second quarter.

“Hopefully the team can train hard after Christmas and put themselves into a good position in the Havering Basketball Cup.”
