Marshalls Park’s understrength netball squad battled to a hard-working draw with their Hall Mead rivals.

The A team were short on numbers and fielded only the bare seven players, due to illness and injury.

But the girls battled hard throughout, with some amazing interceptions from player on the match Lilly Hadrava.

Amber LeBeau took one for the team and despite being the smallest on the team stepped in at GA and played amazingly well, feeding the ball into Parkes whose shooting was excellent and a huge improvement.

There are huge improvements still to be made in the mid-court, however, with so many great interceptions just thrown immediately back to the opposition.

But a 7-7 draw was a fair result as both teams battled hard to learn the game and played to the best of their ability.

Marshalls park’s B team also played well and there was some great footwork from Mills and Crane, bringing the ball through centre court.

Thomas and Stanciu paired well together in the circle, but their shots just wouldn’t fall.

Meckiff worked well at GK to deflect the ball, but unfortunately kept returning it to a strong Hall Mead shooting pair and the Upminster school ran out 9-1 winners.
