Havering cup: Sanders 0 Redden Court 8

Redden Court’s under-14 girls eased to a convincing Havering Cup win over Sanders.

A 14-strong squad arrived to find the hosts could not field a full team, so the two schools decided to play a nine-a-side fixture.

And it was soon clear that Redden Court were too strong for their rivals, with students playing in a variety of positions.

The visitors remained disciplined, passing and moving well, and although Sanders worked hard and defended well, with their keeper making some excellent saves, Redden Court scored at regular intervals.

Freya Duffy, Alanah Jefferies and Josie East scored two goals apiece, with Holly Carnera and Kristy Robinson completing the rout.

Sarah Henderson went close, hitting the crossbar, and a Redden Court spokesperson said: “All students performed well, demonstrating their ability to adapt.

“It could have been more, had it not been for the crossbar and the performance of the Sanders goalkeeper.”

Redden Court: Katie Hawkes, Holly Carnera, Grace Roberts, Cerys Heard, Jamie Hartwell, Elize Bonning, Lucie Ballard, Katie Adams, Kristy Robinson, Freya Duffy, Josie East, Alanah Jefferies, Louise Banham-Scott, Sarah Henderson.
