Havering Cup: Redden Court 8 Albany 0

Redden Court’s year 10 boys proved far too strong for their Albany rivals in a borough cup clash last night.

The two sides had battled to a 2-2 draw in last season’s competition, but Redden Court produced a convincing performance to run out emphatic winners this time around.

Captain Connor Hartwell organised the troops well in central midfield, while goalkeeper Charlie Haddon marshalled his defence to good effect as Redden Court proved difficult to break down.

Enock Sagonile broke the deadlock after good wing play from Jed Roofe, who added a second before Dan Parker produced a sublime chip to make it 3-0.

Sagonile claimed his second before the break to all but end the tie as a contest and the home side remained in charge after the restart, despite shuffling their line-up.

Parker grabbed his second, before Ross Riding got in on the act with a brace and Sagonile completed his hat-trick to round off a great tally.

Teacher Anthony Henry said: “It’s a great start to the campaign and expectations are high going into the next fixture away to Sanders.”

Redden Court: Haddon, Duggins, Shepherd, Roberts, Diewell, Roofe, Thianphimai, Ogoro, Banham-Scott, Hartwell, Parker, Sagonile, Goddard, Riding.
