Essex Cup: Palmer Catholic Academy 2 Marshalls Park 5

Marshalls Park’s year seven boys played really well against a good Palmers team to book their place in the next round of the Essex Cup.

Park took the lead through Freddie Potts before they were awarded a penalty, after Bradley Gray was fouled in the area.

Gray picked himself up and slotted home the spot-kick to make it 2-0 and Park were looking comfortable, but some slack defending allowed Palmers to get back into the tie.

Park regained their two-goal advantage with Potts adding his second goal of the game, but Palmers made it 3-2 with 10 minutes to go and it looked like they could get back into it.

However, after some good possession play, Park added two quickfire goals through Sonny Davie and Potts, completing his hat-trick, to finish off the tie.

Marshalls will host the winners of the tie between Brentwood County High and St Bonaventures in the next round.
