Pupils pick up first-ever national medal

Brentwood’s mixed gymnastics team performed superbly at the National finals to claim their first-ever bronze medal.

William Loader, 13, and 12-year-olds Thomas Howard, David McGill, Ashley Duley, Sophie Farquhar and Amelia Blee produced outstanding results in the floor and vault disciplines at Fenton Manor, Stoke-on-Trent.

Coach Jennifer Kennon said: “We are so proud and the pupils are a pleasure to coach. It’s so nice that gymnastics is on the map at Brentwood Senior School. We hope more children will want to try it out.”
