Romford running out of time

London Division 2NE

Romford & GP (14-1-4) v Harlow (2-0-16)

Park welcome basement boys Harlow to Crow Lane having lost a little bit of ground in the promotion race last weekend.

A hard-fought 17-15 win at Oldd Streetonians earned third-placed Park four points, but top two Rochard and Braintree notched up bonus-point wins elsewhere to edge further clear.

Coach Mark Collins will not give up the fight until Park have no mathematical hope of climbing above either of their rivals and will expect his men to pick up five points against a Harlow side who are seven points adrift at the bottom of the table.

London Division 3NE

Bancroft (3-0-14) v Campion (7-0-11)

Campion gave their survival hopes a shot in the arm with a 35-19 home win over Wymondham.

But they are only five points ahead of Bancroft, who have a game in hand, and need to avoid defeat in this clash if they are to keep away from the danger zone.

South Woodham Ferrers (7-0-10) v Upminster (9-1-9)

Upminster romped to a 50-19 win over struggling Bancroft at Hall Lane last weekend and could move up to fifth with more success.

They are now level on 43 points with Wanstead, who slumped to a 40-14 defeat at South Woodham, so Paul McLeavy’s men must be prepared to battle.

Essex Division 1

Old Cooperians (9-0-7) v Maldon (11-0-6)

Coopers climbed up to fourth with a 24-13 win over Old Brentwoods last weekend.

But they are 12 points behind third-placed Maldon, who were comfortable winners when the two sides met a few weeks ago.

Coopers will be hoping to set the record straight at St Mary’s Lane, but will face a tough test.
