Upminster will hope for a home win

Second week of league action

London Division 2NE

Old Streetonians v Romford & GP

Park began the new campaign with a rare win at Woodford last weekend.

But coach Mark Collins knows they will face another tough test at Hackney, against a Streets side beaten by Enfield in their opener.

Matt Phillips made an appearance from the bench after a hamstring injury, while Jay Cater and Micky James had run outs in the pack for Park, who are hoping to welcome Lithuanian Lu Sarkus back into their squad soon.

East London v Campion

New Campion captain Steve Canny remains sidelined with a hamstring injury but saw his side overcome South Woodham Ferrers at Cottons Park last weekend.

Youngsters Luke Tilly and Michael Eghan received special praise from Canny, who has taken over as skipper from Luke Maguire and will be hoping his side can notch up a second successive victory against newly-promoted rivals.

Upminster v South Woodham Ferrers

The long trip to Norwich proved a fruitless one for Upminster as they slipped to defeat last weekend.

Neil Hutchison’s side conceded two tries while down to 14 men, with Jamie Pavitt sin-binned, but will look to open their account against a South Woodham side beaten 17-10 by Campion.

The first-team squad are then due to attend the mini and junior training session on Sunday as part of the club’s new focus on youth development.
