Raising money for children’s wards at Queens

Romford & Gidea Park Rugby Club are holding a Family Fun Day on Saturday (August 13).

Aimed at raising money for the Tropical Lagoon children’s wards at Romford’s Queens Hospital, it will include a world record attempt for most conversions kicked in one hour.

A spokesman said: “We’re trying to raise the club’s profile within the community and thought a good way to do so was to raise money for sick children.

“We have lots of stalls selling bits and pieces, a barbeque, DJ, games, shows and displays, as well as a police van, fire engine, ambulance and hopefully a lot more.

“It should be a great family day out - as long as the weather holds!!!!”

The fun starts at the club’s Crow Lane base at 10am. For more information see the Romford club website at
