Under-13s beat Billericay rivals
Romford & Gidea Park’s understrength under-13s produced a strong team display to beat Billericay.
With players absent due to county training, holidays and injury, Park showed their strength in depth after Billericay opened the scoring in the corner.
Paddy Tighe began a backs more for Bradley Trickett to score in the corner, before Cameron Petrie and Owen Dew combined well for Dew to go under the posts and then convert.
Billericay began the second half with a breakaway try to close to within two points, but Park produced more pressure and Dew was driven over by his forwards, before converting once more.
Jordan Roberts pounced on a loose ball to claim Park’s fourth try and prop Luke Broomfield surged over to complete a 29-10 victory.

The under-12s also fielded a depleted squad at Upper Clapton and won a scrum against the head before Kai Tarrant sent Michael Courtney over for the opening score.
Tarrant converted, but the home side drew level with a converted try of their own before the break.
Tom Chapman restored Park’s lead in the second half, with Sam Slatford converting, as Park finished 14-7 winners.
Tarrant and Thayne Henwood tries were converted by Slatford in a second meeting to put Park 14-0 up, but the hosts rallied to earn a draw.

The under-11s fell to a 15-0 defeat in their first outing, after losing Harry McVelia to illness.
Player of the day Harry Wright, Louis Ridley and Robson Burke produced strong runs in the second half, but Park could not break through.
Honours finished even in a second meeting, after the hosts opened the scoring again.
Ronnie Brooks sent Ridley over to level, but another lapse allowed Upper Clapton to regain the lead.
Wright and Ridley were held up just short, but Park drew level again when captain Robson Burke broke through tackles to score in the corner.

The under-10s romped to a 45-0 win over their counterparts, thanks to a hat-trick from player of the day Logan Petrie.
Arbi Bytyqi added a brace, with Reece Stevens, Luke Brindley, Billly Watts and Sam Wright also touching down.
A much-changed team fell 15-0 down in a second meeting, but William Meeenear, Petrie and Kennedy Sylvester (2) touched down as they battled back for a 20-20 draw.
