Crow Lane club recorded a 29-17 success on Saturday
Jordan Wigham feels Romford & Gidea Park fully deserved their 29-17 victory at London Two North East leaders Woodford.
The Crow Lane club became the first team to topple Woodford this term, while also becoming the first team to restrict the Highams club to fewer than four tries.
By winning on Saturday, RGP were able to close the gap to the leaders to just two points.
And Romford head coach Wigham feels his team were good value for their success away to Woodford.
“We knew the challenge that was ahead of us going into the Woodford game, but we focussed on our strengths,” said Wigham.
“We had some information about what to expect having spoken to other coaches in the division and also having sent someone to watch some of their games, so we knew what we were up against.
“Woodford are a good team, as shown by the fact they won with bonus points in each of their first eight games, but everyone really stepped their game up on Saturday.”
