St Mary’s Lane club lost 24-14 at home on Saturday
Pat Reed believes Old Cooperians’ 24-14 loss at home to Ilford Wanderers was the latest in a string of defeats where they have been architects of their own downfall.
By slipping to a defeat against Wanderers, Coops have now lost their last four in the league since beating Millwall on October 27.
And head coach Reed feels the St Mary’s Lane club were again let down by poor decision making at the wrong times which Ilford capitalised on.
“At the minute, we’re throwing games away and not getting a foothold in matches,” said Reed.
“We’re playing well, but we’re giving the ball away in wrongs areas and also trying to ball rugby in the wrong areas.
“There’s not much we can do other than keep working on that in training to try to improve.
“Credit to Ilford, though; they played to their strengths and were able to grind out a result.”
