London One North: Romford & Gidea Park 10 Colchester 66
Romford & Gidea Park were heavily beaten by London One North leaders Colchester last weekend, and it doesn’t get any easier as they visit Eton Manor tomorrow week (February 21).
Park lost 66-10 at Crow Lane on Saturday, but had shipped 74 points in the previous encounter back in October.
Paul Webb and Ben Lawrence touched down as Grant Henwood’s side at least got themselves on the scoreboard this time.
But Park didn’t make the best of starts against Colchester as they conceded inside the opening seven minutes.
A yellow card to Tyler Lawrence two minutes later didn’t aid their cause and the visitors were 22 points ahead with just 23 minutes played.
Webb responded for Park, though, scoring his try just before the break.
But four tries in the opening 15 minutes of the second period piled more misery on Park, before Mitchell Noyce was sent to the sin bin.
Lawrence went over for the hosts as they tried to finish positively, but Colchester scored three more tries in the final 10 minutes to ensure another heavy defeat for Park.
