Impressive display sees off Bucks

Romford Ravens players helped guide Essex women to the County Plate Final with an impressive 38-24 win over Buckinghamshire.

Four counties could have qualified for the final going into the weekend, but a bonus-point win for Essex saw them go through.

A fast start saw the hosts take control and attack the line before being rewarded with a Sally Tuson try.

Essex continued to pressure the Bucks line and India Harvey intercepted a pass and touched down between the posts, before Fay Picton added the conversion.

The home side were controlling play but after Tuson scored another try, the visitors soon replied with two of their own.

But Tuson once again stepped up for her county and produced two more tries to take her tally to four.

Bucks were not going down without a fight and scored a third try and were only denied another by a last-ditch tackle from Eloise Bloomfield.

Both sides landed another try before the final whistle and Essex play Leicestershire in the final at Richmond RFC on Sunday at 10am.
