Cottons Park club returned to winning ways with success on the road

Campion may have beaten Kings Cross Stelers 29-20 in London Three Essex on Saturday, but Pat Hallahan feels they gave their worst performance of the season so far.

The Cottons Park club returned to winning ways in the league, having been beaten on each of their previous two outings.

Despite the success, head coach Hallahan feels Campion did not give a good account of themselves at the weekend.

But he believes that the Cottons Park club winning after giving a poor display is a positive in itself.

“It was a poor performance in truth. We were rusty in places and that was probably the worst we’ve played this season,” he said.

“We had to dig in, but we were able to score some good tries and there were positives to take from the game.

“I said to the boys after that good teams win when not playing well, but we know where we can improve going forward.”
