Cottons Park club suffered second straight loss in league

Pat Hallahan believes some questionable refereeing decisions did not help Campion after they lost 35-33 at home to London Three Essex leaders Epping Upper Clapton.

The Cottons Park club slipped to a second straight defeat in the league, but were able to collect two bonus points despite ending the game with just 12 men.

Epping snatched victory from the jaws of defeat with the final play of the game, leaving Hallahan to reflect on what might have been.

The Campion head coach says he was pleased with how his team played, but was less happy with the officials.

“The referee was a bit inconsistent with some of his decisions on Saturday, which was a shame as we played well for much of the game and deserved more from it,” he said.

“Epping will be up near the top come the end of the season, so we have to learn from this lesson and go again.”
