Cottons Park club produced stirring comeback to win 27-24 on Saturday

Pat Hallahan lavished praise on Campion’s determination after they recovered from being 14 points down to win 27-24 at Barking in London Three Essex.

The Cottons Park club found themselves 17-3 down at one stage, but staged a remarkable comeback to triumph.

It ensured Campion continued their hot form in the league, having now won their last four matches in the competition.

And head coach Hallahan was delighted with the latest success for the Cottons Park outfit.

“It was a great win for the club. We hadn’t played Barking competitively in a number of years and it was a big game for us,” he said.

“Some of our younger players knew about Barking’s recent history and what they had done for rugby in east London.

“For us to be able to beat them, it was a good sign of the progress we are making as a club.

“It was a tough game as Barking used their pack well and their fly-half dictated play, while they also capitalised on our mistakes.

“We had to dig deep at 17-3 down, but I was pleased with the way we hit back and played some really entertaining rugby to win.”
