Romford club captain Kevin Smith and Keith Barrett won the Autumn Foursomes Trophy for the first time on Sunday.
The duo got off to a flying start in the 36-hole final, going five up after 13 holes against Joe Coogan and Ian Riley.
The gap was back to two holes at lunch, after a mistake by Barrett on the 18th, but the pair moved four up soon after the restart.
Coogan and Riley won three holes in a row to find themselves one down with seven to play, with the next four holes halved before Smith holed the winning putt on the 17th to clinch a 2&1 victory.
Lisa Goddard and Richard Hall won the Robertson’s Winter Mixed Trophy – one of the club’s oldest – for the third time in a row.
Three down after six holes to mother-and-son Karen and Oliver Miles, the experienced duo dug deep to claw their way back with birdies at the 11th and 15th to complete their hat-trick with a 2&1 victory.
