Friday night tips

Romford are back in the game in the BAGS Track Championship after a better performance from the Essex-based runners in the second round of matches in their group at Yarmouth on Wednesday.

The latest scores are Peterborough 126, Yarmouth 112, Romford 97, with the last remaining fixture at London Road on Thursday, December 6.

The winner of the group heads to Perry Barr, Birmingham, for the Grand Final on December 23.

As for tomorrow night’s action, there is a five-runner final for the Coral On TV Stayers Trophy decider, where Smiler Jack (9.24pm) needs only to repeat his trapping in his heat to make all, with Bubbly Rossie fancied for the forecast with a vacant trap inside.

A cracking night’s racing sees some outstanding match-ups, not least Glanmire Lad (8.50pm) versus another precocious youngster in Bonamassa Rocks. The former’s starting ability might well seal it.

Paulines Pride (8.34pm) against the strong Droopys Franklin is another teaser and, again, the first-named’s trapping might seal it, while Alis Avenger (9.40pm) can get first run on staying-on Uh Oh Chongo over 400m.
