Friday night tips

Romford will be in two places at once tomorrow night!

As ever, the usual Friday night fare is fantastic at London Road, but a team of greyhounds will also be travelling up the M11 towards Peterborough where their first clash in the 2012 BAGS Track Championship takes place.

Romford, finalists in the £160,000 event last year, take on Peterborough and Yarmouth as part of a three-way round-robin with the track top-of-the-table after three nights of racing over the coming weeks heading to the Grand Final at Perry Barr, Birmingham, on December 23.

As for the home track action, there is a clash of the titans at the Coral Stadium, Romford, with the UK’s two most prolific open-race winners - Ayamzaman and Fernhill Jess - crossing swords in the final of the Coral On TV Standard Trophy over 400m.

A fast start for either seals it, but Ayamzaman’s draw inside his chief rival swings it.

Other bets on the card that catch the eye are unlucky-last-time Blackstone Bob (7.30pm); speedy Russian Girl (7.46pm); Romford Puppy Cup winner Glanmire Lad (8.50pm); improving Bubbly Rossie (9.06pm) and impressive-last-week pair of Star One Day (9.40pm) and Bridge Jane (10.40pm).
