Friday night tips

There’s a fantastic card at Romford this Friday, which gets better with each race with star names such as Mountjoy Osprey and Little Spark on the programme. Both are prolific winners at the Coral venue.

Mountjoy Osprey (10.11pm) ran an awesome 13.31secs sprint trial earlier this week and he can resume winning ways and, while Little Spark will have his supporters, Melodys Express (9.56pm) looks to have the draw in a race where impressive-last-week Burnpark Brave will also help make the market.

The final on the card is the Coral On TV Stayers at 9.24pm in which Paul Young has a huge hand with half of the field.

But his Bubbly Ebony sluiced home in the heats and has chunks in hand on the clock, while Be Real (8.50pm) has been running well in good-class puppy events and might too prove strong over 400m.

Slick Sian (9.06pm) won well last week and is for money-buyers only, while later on the frustrating Bridge Jane (10.26pm) might have the make-up from red to strike.

*Romford’s fans could be on the road on Good Friday (April 6), when runners from the track represent the London Road venue at Swindon for the BAGS/SIS Easter Bunny Grand Finals gala.

Galtee Alfie, Sporty Ted and Ardant Owen will be cheered on by their Essex-based supporters at the afternoon meeting at the Wiltshire track (first race 2.08) which is free to enter, with ‘fun for all the family’ promised.
