Friday night tips

Balmi Blue (10.40pm) can strike again for David Mullins and prove the perfect ‘getting out’ bet for punters when he eyes a quickfire double over 575m at Romford on Friday night.

One of the country’s best six-bend dogs when on-song, he beat a good field last week to end Aero Joker’s winning run and should again lead up, and take advantage of any scrimmaging as the remainder of the field jockey for position in behind.

Slick Shane checked away his chance at the bend last week, but can make amends in the sprint at 8.02pm, while Slippery Rocky showed good pace in winning an A1 at the weekend and can take the step back up in class successfully in the 8.18pm.

Yahoo Killian ran a good comeback race last week and a midfield draw looks preferable in the 8.34pm, while Young Vicarious could be another winner for the in-form Paul Young when he steps back up in trip in the 8.50pm.

*Romford now have their three runners to represent the track at Good Friday’s gala meeting at Swindon for the BAGS/SIS Easter Bunny finals. The three are sprint winner Galtee Alfie (replaces Your The Tops), standard winner Sporty Ted and stayers hero Ardant Owen.
