Busy times at local track
It’s a busy 48 hours at Romford with the usual Friday open-race fare followed by the Coral venue hosting the first leg of the Bags Track Championship 2011.
A 17-track inter-track competition, with £150,000 in overall prize-money on offer, Romford have been drawn in the southern region against Hove, Sittingbourne, Crayford and Poole.
Runners from each of those tracks go head-to-head with the home team in six legs on Saturday morning with points totted up from each race.
Romford then travel to Hove on Wednesday, Sittingbourne (November 24), Crayford (December 1) and Poole (December 10).
The top two teams in each region qualify for the Grand Final at Monmore on December 23.
On to Friday night’s action at Romford and the pick of the races is the Coral On TV Standard final, with Nans Turbo (9.20) set to follow up his cracking heat win with a turbo-charged effort into the turn, and help by five moving off.
Best of the rest could be new recruit Swabys Tony (8.17), who ran a cracker on an ‘away day’ last time, and Coolbrook Paddy (10,40), who also ran a good race against impressive Sky winner Judicial Academy in their previous meeting.
