Friday night tips

Blackhall Prince has got the winning habit from the heats and can follow up when it matters most against fellow timber-toppers in this Friday’s big race at Romford, the Roger Kent-Barton Triumph Hurdle final.

It’s a decent final with course and distance winners aplenty, plus the Grand National winner no less in the shape of Victoria Falls.

But Blackhall Prince surely needs only to lead chief rival Baltylum Houdini to score.

Either way, make sure you get to the track early to see a red-hot sprint with Ardbeg Kate (7.30pm) set to put a halt to the progress of Knights Pride, while Droopys Boo (8.32) is interesting in the maiden 575m.

Here’s a dog with so much pace over four bends who flew round in a recent Oxford trial. But he doesn’t like other dogs, likes his own way and his class could take him to the front over the longer trip.

Others who catch the eye are Romford Puppy Cup finalist Droopys Lorenzo (8.48) and the evergreen local Belief (10.08), back on the level after another hurdles tilt.
