THE Romford Puppy Cup is one of the most famous greyhound races in the GBGB Calendar and the event reaches the semi-final stage at the Coral track tonight - and the big question for punters will be whether to take on hot favourite Eden Star.

The Puppy Derby winner dived towards the rails out of the traps in Monday’s heats and has the black jacket again, so expect the same. He could be held up early in the third semi, so perhaps the shrewd move is to side with the well-drawn Slick Santiago (9.20pm) who should have a solo with the four moving inside.

The second semi looks tailor-made for recent impressive Sky winner Fast Food Chili (9.04pm) after he missed the break in the heats, but ran well behind a good winner in Bucks Blade. The latter takes on fastest heat scorer Droopys Calvin in the first semi, which is a tough one to call.

Elsewhere, veteran hurdler Romeo In Miami (9.34pm) has a race named in his honour tonight as he lines up for his 100th race And the way he ran last time, Ricky Holloway’s dog might well take the beating!
