Rainham resident excited about start of the new campaign and riding new Ducati 959 Panigali

Rainham’s Rob Guiver was frustrated by the weather last week, as he prepares for the new season at Hyside Motorcycle Racing Team.

The local resident is riding the new Ducati 959 Panigali this year and spent time making his new ride comfortable at the Donington Park Test Day recently.

Guiver was hoping to get some time on the track, but rain and a cold wind prevented most teams from turning a wheel in anger.

The track temperature was very low and the resulting type pressures and slippery track turned the surface into a lottery.

With the new season starting soon, Guiver concentrated on getting all the levers, pedals and seat settings to his liking last week.

He said: “It was not an ideal day, but at least I managed to get a decent riding position and some basic suspension settings.

“Hopefully we will get some practise sessions prior to the race and get a better understanding of the bike.

“The new 959 Panigali seems to have a better throttle response and a smoother power output which makes it a more comfortable and safer bike to ride, so I can’t wait for race day!”
