An import short for big weekend
Romford Raiders will go into their biggest games of the season this weekend with only one import.
Lithuanian forward Algimantas Visockas is unavailable, but player-coach Danny Marshall believes his side can get something from their Essex derby in Chelmsford tomorrow and their Rom Valley Way clash with Invicta on Sunday.
He said: “We’ve got a hard weekend coming up and it’s a shame we’ll only have one import. Al has landed himself a new job and has work commitments now, but he will still be around to help at other times.
“We’ve not been able to get another import in yet, but I definitely think we’re capable of taking points from both games.”
Chelmsford include former Raiders Euan King, Matt Turner and Danny Cox in their line-up and Marshall is looking forward to two tough challenges.
“It’s a derby weekend and I say bring it on. We’ve got a good team and the boys are up for it,” he said.
“I don’t think the import issue is a big thing. We’re taking it one game at a time and we’re looking forward to the weekend.”
