Two goals apiece from captain Sam Roberts and Alan Lack helped Raiders rally to beat Division Two rivals Haringey at the Sapphire Ice & Leisure Centre.

Dan Hitchings put the hosts ahead in the fourth minute but a cross-checking penalty against Lack gave Huskies a chance to level on the power play through Lee Mercer.

Kamil Kinkor and James Buckingham picked up double minors for fighting with Raiders also seeing Brandon Webster binned for cross-checking to allow Haringey to move 2-1 up through Bryn Griffiths with another power play goal.

And former Romford junior Stephen Woodford put Huskies 3-1 up late in the first period, a lead they held until past the midway point when Roberts netted on a Raiders power play.

The gloves came off again seconds later, with Raiders seeing Webster and Clint Walton binned for four and 14 minutes repectively, while Haringey lost Mercer for 14 minutes and Buckingham to a game misconduct.

Kinkor levelled matters once the dust settled, but tempers frayed again as Lack clashed with Luke Martin-Digby, with Haringey’s Jack Lee earning a 10-minute misconduct penalty and Woodford given a 2+2+10 penalty for leaving the bench.

Webster converted on a Raiders power play before the end of the middle session to put them 4-3 up and George Gell grabbed their fifth with just over 10 minutes remaining.

A tripping penalty against Seb Downing gave Lack the chance to make it 6-3 on the power play, before Huskies saw Joseph Willingham beat Brad Windebank for their fourth goal of the night.

It was only a consolation, though, as Roberts and Lack claimed their second goals of the game in the closing minutes to cap a second win of the season for the newcomers.

Scorers, Raiders: Lack 2+2, Roberts 2, Webster 1+1, Kinkor 1+1, Gell 1, Hitchings 1, Veares 0+2, Brown 0+1, Huggett 0+1.

Huskies: Griffiths 1, Mercer 1, Woodford 1, Willingham 1, Jackson 0+1, Lee 0+1, Downing 0+1.

Shots on goal: Windebank 11-11-8=30-4; Buckingham 15-23-13=51-8.

Penalty minutes: Raiders 34 Huskies 82.
